As someone who has always practiced fiscal responsibility, even recording her own spending during high school, she values helping others successfully manage their money.
Prior to partnering to form Song & Ho Group LLP, Julie held key senior tax and controller positions with high profile companies including HSBC Canada, as well as two of the Big Four accounting firms, KPMG LLP and Deloitte & Touche LLP and a renowned real estate company. As a valued team player and mentor to junior staff, her enthusiasm and integrity were highly regarded by colleagues and management alike.
Julie is driven by business ideas. She focuses on tailored tax solutions, bringing fresh perspectives and professional insight to meet her clients’ accounting needs. Her personal approach, reliability and high level of competency have earned her clients’ trust. Julie’s fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin offers the added benefit of being able to provide services to multi-generational customers.
Julie is an active community-focused volunteer who has held diverse and influential positions in non- profit organizations. Notable achievements include past Director and Treasurer for both the Chinese Federation of Commerce of Canada and the Chinese Professionals Association of Canada, as well as past volunteer service with the Canadian Cancer Society, BC & Yukon Division. Julie currently holds position of Treasurer with the Vancouver Chapter of her high school alumni association. Outside of work, she has also received recognition for her musical achievement from the Royal Schools of Music, London UK.
Today, working with business partner Stephanie Song, her greatest reward is helping clients relieve their financial and tax reporting burdens and achieve greater tax efficiency. Julie is a Chartered Professional Accountant in BC, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors) from Simon Fraser University, and is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington State. In addition, Julie is committed to lifelong professional learning especially in the areas of advanced personal and corporate tax.
